Mini caravans have been around for a long time and are known under various names..  Teardrop campers, Teardrop caravans, teardrop trailers, micro caravans, mini sleepers to name but a few, but none of them seemed to give us what I was looking for, so the obvious thing to do was build our own, what I wanted was a mini sleeper capable of being pulled behind a ural outfit (or other outfit/trike) with enough room to sleep two adults, the ability to stand up in the rear section, give good weather protection and most of all to keep the overall weight to a minimum.

We specialize in ural flat twin motorcycles/sidecars from Russia, Dnepr motorbikes/sidecars from the Ukraine, overhead valve and sidevalve versions. Over the years these bikes have been known under various names, cossacks, nevals, urals, uralmoto, dnepr, IMZ, KMZ

Ural camper     5* sleeper

We are now building version 4 of the 5*sleeper and have made various enhancements over earlier versions, with three specifications being offered

common features to all versions

internal measurements  floor area 47inches wide   6ft 6inches long     height (max) 47 inches (1.2metres x 1.98metres x1.2metres ) 

   external measurements width including mudguards 5ft 2inches length 9ft  (1.58metres x 2.75metres)              

     frame is birch ply covered with glass fabric 200grams/metre with three coats of epoxy resin followed by high build primer and two pack top coat polished and waxed    

overall weight          approx 100kgs                                                                                                        wheels are 8 inch standard trailer wheels, with independent suspension units, standard trailer plastic mudguards, towbar coupling and breakaway strap, fitted rear trailer light board including triangular reflectors. 2 x retractable stabilizer legs, 1 x front retractable stabilizer leg

internal fittings 1 x 3inch thick high density foam mattress, internal roof and rear door insulated and lined, 2 x curtain rails and light weight curtains, fitted rear door awning with central zip, 2 x forward bulkhead storage areas, 2 x side bulkhead storage pockets, 2 x door struts, 1 x fresh air vent, 2 x side teardrop shaped tinted windows

5*sleeper  The standard version includes all the above and offers a comfortable night for two.
